Warm Up Examples of questions you might ask when you first meet someone.
"How old are you?" is not a proper question to ask in some countries. Listening and Conversation Listening 2 will be done first. Check your answers in the back of the book. Listening 1 will be done second. Check your answers in the back of the book. Conversation Repeat the conversation after your teacher. Then, practice the conversation 2 times with your partner, once doing part A, the second time as part B. Finally, practice it again, but this time use your name and your information. Pronunciation Listen to your teacher and repeat the words after your teacher. Take care to pronounce the words exactly as your teacher pronounces them. Grammar Yes/No questions are questions that can be answered with a yes or a no. "Do you like studying English? - Yes, I do." Wh- questions are good to get more details. "Why do you like studying English? - Because
it's interesting." Listen to your teacher. What is the intonation (억양) of
your teacher's voice during Yes/No questions? Is it rising
In groups of 2 or 3 people, ask a yes/no question then ask two or three wh- follow-up questions. Ask at least 3 yes/no questions with follow-up questions. Conversation Practice Famous Person 20 Questions Player One - Think of a famous person and answer questions about that person. You can only answer "Yes" or "No". Other players - Try to guess who player one is thinking of...you can only ask yes/no questions. Example: Now another player thinks of a famous person and player one you ask the questions.
